Inyo SAR was called out to the North Fork of Big Pine Creek last night around 1600 for a subject with a leg injury. It was reported the party was approximately 0.1 miles up the trail from the overnight parking lot. A group of 6 Inyo SAR members arrived at the hut and quickly departed to the trailhead. One hasty team member ran approximately 0.3 miles up the trail to the subject, and found the subject sitting in the trail with a very swollen left ankle. The party had been hiking out when the subject slipped and fell around 3 pm, injuring his ankle. When the rest of the SAR team members arrived shortly after, the subject was moved into a litter and carried to the Big Pine Pack Station (approximately 200 yards), where Sierra 35 took over care of the patient and transported to the hospital for treatment.
