Training Seminar: Rigging for Rescue I and II

Inyo County SAR has been fortunate to train with Rigging for Rescue® (RFR) through the years and we are especially grateful to them for traveling to the Eastern Sierra this year to again instruct both Level I and Level II courses for the team.

RFR offers a technical ropework seminar that is renowned for its focus on applying the critical thinking and systems analysis skills required to competently incorporate ropework and rigging into effective rescue systems.

Below are some images from the week of training. Inyo County SAR had multiple call-outs in a 48-hour period toward the end of the seminar, but luckily all calls were resolved via self-rescue, assistance from other recreational climbers, and via remote assistance from SAR coordinators within the Inyo County Sherrif’s Office. This meant that no members or candidate members slated to attend the RFR seminar had to miss any course time to work a call-out! Awesome.

Summer season is upon us; if you are recreating in Inyo County, be sure to read our PSAR 2020 flier and share it with your friends: Mountain Safety is No Accident!
